  How Would You React if a Snake Started Talking to You?

  just an odd thought i guess.

  i saw a large snake in the back of my house the other day and it went on its merry way.

  i just asked myself, what if the snake turned around and wanted to have a philosophical discussion on life, the universe or the origin of creation and then began to ask me questions?

  I have seen a group of black snakes doing a mating dance. I have had a snake rattle at me and I have had numerous snakes scare the crap out of me. But I have never had one talk to me. In the bible there are two snake stories. The Eve with the talking snake and Moses making a snake come to life from his staff and eating other snakes. Like others I don't like snakes but as soon as they evolve into talking snakes I am leaving this planet. Lol. Still Totally ADD

  growing up in the 70's and 80's in the jw religion who remembers the massive stadium gigs the watchtower used to hold?.

  we used to denounce false religion in the starkest of terms.

  we were right and by god we were letting anyone who listened know it.

  Phizzy like you I am a old fart born in the mid 1950's. I remember very well the large conventions, new information and more so called enlightment. It was exciting when a new book came out. The 1971 conventions come to mind when the new elder arrangement came out. It was a time of of fear and excitement of the new system.

  By the late 1980's all that started to die down. No exciting new information, books were mostly rehashed stuff from older books and then the boring conventions came. By the time 2000's came and no new system in sight it all became changing major teachings to peat and repeat. Along with the art of dumbing down everything. By the time I left in 2010 it was the start of the big money grab. Next it's time to become a televangelist organization. If they do it right they will be richer than ever just like the other televangelist scam artist on TV. Still Totally ADD

  i'm reading babylon the great has fallen, god's kingdom rules, published 1963. this was studied years ago when i was about 10-12 years old.

  i wanted to just read some of the beliefs from decades ago.

  my wife wants to know why i'm reading this book.

  My parents died from the corona virus

  both my 84 yr old jw father and my never my jw mother 82 with both together died from the the corona in 24 hours of each other.

  i can tell many fighting i have had here in the last 20 years.on this site .

  i juy hope they rest in peace.

  Do You Think We Will Ever Get Back To “Normal”?

  My Mom died last week.

  last wednesday my elder brother called me to let me know mom had died.

  she was 97 years old and was in a nursing home for the last 7 years.

  her mind had left her many years ago to the point she didn't recognize any of us.

  So many heart warming condolences. Your love and concerns has lifted my spirits. It has taught me everyone of us is in the same boat in one way or another when it comes to losing a parent. It also reminded me how precious life is and not to be wasted. I will never forget your heartfelt thoughts and encouragements for the rest of my life. Thank you to all.

  Thank you all for your kind comments. Little more information on my older brother. He is 77 years old and is a elder. We are 11 years apart and we were never close. He has always treated me like a step child instead as a brother. He is what he is and I have accepted that. He told me 10 years ago that he felt he would die in this system. So deep down there are doubts in his mind.

  My Mom in many ways was kind and loving to me but her mental health was always in the way. I learned at a very young age to avoid her certain times of the month. She would be so, so parts of the month then for about a week would be very happy and loving. That's when I knew the misery would begin. Anger, hateful speech, violence and screaming. I would just stay away during that period. There would also be times she would be having screaming conversations with people who would not be there. I learned from her doctor 10 years ago she was most likely suffering from paranoia schizophrenia. After Dad die it worsen to the point she wanted to kill my wife. At that time my brother took over taking care of her and we moved to PA.

  Anyway that's the short story of it all. I will work on thinking only on the positive things she did and was. Life is to short to dwell on the negative. Again thank you all for all your kindness. Still Totally ADD
